Portal FAQ's

  • The Ministry of Education gives us Maximum Order Limits (MLO's) - that's the maximum number of lunches each school can receive from Week Four, Term One. If you want to increase your lunch number above your MLO, please contact your MoE Senior Advisor. If you are not sure who your MoE Senior Advisor is, please email School.Lunches@education.govt.nz.

  • Your deliverables page is the agreement between your school and the School Lunch Collective.  It details the key operational aspects of your lunch provision. Please update your deliverables page if whenever you have a significant change at your school, including start dates and health and safety procedures.

  • This section is for you to update your school profile and log-in details. If the name on your login page is incorrect, you can change it here. We recommend using your school's name rather than a staff name to avoid confusion.  IMPORTANT: the email on this page is your log-in email. Please note this email address carefully and ensure you have ongoing access to this email address.

  • This section is for adding the number of lunches you need and uploading dietary details.  Read the menu disclaimer at the top before you start. For example, all meals are Halal appropriate, so you don't need to mark these students as dietary.

Meals are divided into three age groups: 0-3, 4-8, and 9+. Distribute your numbers correctly - MoE sets limits for each category and you will not be able to order more than that.

First add your number of standard meals and click UPDATE.

Then go to dietary meals. Dietary meals require specific information like student name, classroom, and allergens to ensure the meals are delivered to the right child.

To add dietary meals, click on the + sign.

Add student name, classroom, age group and dietary needs directly into the portal. Select from the allergen drop down list what allergens you require.  You can select more than one. We have added in some logics for you - for example if you select Vegetarian,  No Beef and No Lamb will automatically go grey.

    Click UPDATE.

  • If you have a large number of students to add or are uploading your schools' details for the first time, you can use the bulk upload function. At the top of the Meal Information page, click on Import Meal Information. Download the excel template. Fill in all required fields and save to your desktop. DO NOT change the format of the template or make notes - the upload won't process.

Go back to Import Meal Information. Then Choose File and Upload.

    Click UPDATE.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Uploads override all existing data, so ensure you include all students.

  • This tab shows the menu and calendar and allows you to edit meal numbers on individual days.

Move to the date you would like to change your meal numbers.

Click on the EDIT button on the top right- hand corner of that calendar date.

Change your meal numbers for that day by year group. For teacher only days and regional holidays, please make all lunches zero.

Please use the drop-down box to indicate the reason and make any dietary change notes in the additional notes section.

  • If you have forgotten your password, please click on Forgot Password below the log-on panel. You will receive an automated email with instructions to reset your password.

Only one email can be used per school for logging onto the portal.

If you want to change your login, email, please log in and go to the My Account page.
